Jenna Carey

Upper Grade Humanities Teacher

Jenna Carey is a southwest Missouri native who loves to read and write. Before teaching, she obtained her BA in literature and history from College of the Ozarks, and her MA in medieval literature from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. While she was at UArk, she taught college composition and literature courses to freshmen and sophomores. She then moved back to Missouri and taught junior high at a classical Christian school in Branson. Her passion for literature started at a young age while reading Junie B Jones and Judy Moody books, and that passion has only flourished as she dives into classics from Shakespeare to Dante. Classical Christian education reinforces her love of literature in a unique way as she shares these beautiful and timeless works with students through a biblical worldview. Jenna is excited to teach at Headington Hill Classical Academy this school year! The hybrid model and emphasizing schole will be new to her, but she looks forward to learning more about what this looks like as she teaches at HHCA. Jenna believes that the best teachers are lifelong learners, and she is excited to learn more about God and his majesty through the humanities alongside of her students! When she is not teaching, she loves to read mystery novels and take walks with her boxer-terrier, Baxter.
